school uniform

So I go to a private high school and like other private schools they require a uniform. Although what sort of a message are they trying to send by this? Also its not exactly helping with my self consciousness (the uni form is a white button down and khakis with the most prepy jacket that I have ever been forced to wear, which must be the biggest turn off in the world) because I’m that kid who will try to wear skinny jeans and some swagged out tee shirt. Although on a moral note if you think about it this is an entity that is controlling the way that I dress and saying that i have not the mental capacity to make a decision on what to wear. I can understand if a school has a dress code (like no vulgarity or solid red or blue) that at least has some thinking behind it. Although having the cookie cutter student that is expected to conform to someone else view of what is right and what is wrong just seems to be flawed thinking to begin with.
Also whats pissing me off the most is that my school is having a fundraiser coming up and from what i have been told their thinking of telling us what to wear. Like think about this for a second, an event that is mandatory to attend yet not at school and wear not wearing the uniform yet still are not trusted to wear acceptable cloths. If that does not piss you off i don’t know what would.

The Girl with the dragon tattoo, a review

Yesterday I saw The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It was a very enjoyable movie that I have been anxious to watch for some time now. The movie premise is basic. Its main characters are Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) and Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara). The film starts off with Blomkvist leaving a trial for Libel against a wealthy business man. After loosing he decides to leave his job as an investigative reporter at a magazine known as millennium. The film also simultaneously shows Salander, a lesbian who dresses in a gothic punk fashion, talking to two men about a report she made about Blomkvist. After words the second man at the meeting calls Blomkvist and tells him about a job offer, after some persuading he agrees and takes a train to the mans employer’s estate. He then comes to a creepy large house and the man tells him of his granddaughter who went missing some 40 years back, and wants Blomkvist to take a look into who killed her. After looking for a bit he realizes that he might be in need of a research assistant and is suggested to hire Salander. Through its tight winding plot you don’t actually know what will happen next, there were some rape scenes, actually alot for one movie and one scene which I don’t even want to get into. It provides some intense high action momentum and follows through with an amazing plot, the only major problem i could dwell on is that some scenes could call for more dramatic music for the mood. In the end though the movie was a very thrilling enjoyable movie which i would rate an 8.5 out of 10.

Comic book movies

It seems that some movies can never be made correctly although more and more this unfortunate symptom happens to fall upon great comic books. There are some that are so bad that time and time again it seems that they are failed and than retried. One such example would be that of hulk first they try in 2004 and after that miserable failure they decide to try again in 2008 although this time what I found most interesting was the second ending after the credits. If you haven’t seen it, (don’t worry no spoilers) you see Robert Downy Jr. Walk in as Tony Stark/ Iron Man and talk to the general saying that their putting a team together, of elite superheros. This ties in to the movie coming out this year The Avengers. In fact it seems that every movie with an Avengers characters except Spiderman, has a second ending that relates to the Avengers. It seems that they are setting the bar especially high for themselves and hopefully they can keep the legacy going
Although another movie that I am expecting to be a very very good movie is The Dark Knight Rises. Although straight off the bat they are shooting themselves in the foot with the title. It’s actually a sick title, except for the fact that they named the prequel the Dark Knight. Great job there. Although the director Christopher Nolan, also writer has done excellent jobs with both prequels and also many other movies like The Prestige, or Memento. All in all hopefully the Dark night rises can meet the hype that it has generated for itself
